English courses in Galway
ATLANTIC
LANGUAGE SCHOOL 2011
The school was established in 1993 by John Daly
and has a friendly, direct atmosphere combined with high standard of
teaching English. However, its aim is to give the students something
more than ordinary English lessons.
Teachers and the staff meet the students in and outside the school,
which enables the students to experience the real Irish hospitality
in an exciting and colorful city on the west coast of Ireland.
In July 2003 the school was moved to the new
building adapted to holding the classes. It is located in the centre
of Galway next to the main Tourist Information Centre and the bus
station, 1 minute from Eyre Square - Atlantic
School has the best location among all schools in Galway. From the
third floor of the school views on Galway Gulf and the city spread.
Building of the school makes the impression because of the front
covered with glass. It was designed to guarantee many facilities for
the school, there is a big terrace/garden on the roof with the view
on the gulf and the city.
People from the following countries learn at Atlantic Language School:
Spain, Korea, Poland, Italy, France, Germany, Mexico, Japan,
Switzerland, China, Russia, Libya, Estonia, Saudi Arabia, Brasil and
Austria.
Atlantic is recognized by the Division of Education as a Language

Ireland |
Where can you find
a better place to learn English than in Ireland, a country
famous for its hospitable and friendly people, stunning beauty
of the landscapes and coasts, wealthy of the music, theatre
and literary traditions?
George Bernard Shaw claimed that the best and most proper
English is spoken in Ireland. There are many famous English -
speaking authors from Ireland, e.g. Yeats, Beckett, OCasey, Joyce
- so this statement is understandable.
Today modern and robust European country, Ireland still
worships its strong cultural and historic traditions. In
reality, tradition and modern times go together. Ireland is a
safe, not very crowded country with clear water and air. It
makes Ireland a perfect place for many sports and activities
in the fresh air, such as fishing, horse riding, sailing, golf
and walks on the hills. There are also many indoor social and
cultural activities for those who are less active.
Galway
Galway,
cultural capital city of Ireland is situated on the west coast
of Ireland. Only 3 hours of journey from Dublin and you will
find yourself in a colorful, young academic town with developing
business. Galway is one of the fastest developing towns in
Ireland with 66,000 people. With the development of the economy,
touristic sector and higher education, Galway will be the third
biggest city in Ireland.
In 1988 Galway had the 500. anniversary, although it started to
exist much earlier. The medieval part of the city has recently
been renovated and many streets were closed for the cars, which
gave the city a gipsy, artistic atmosphere. This area of the
city is very popular among young people from Ireland and Europe.
The main street, Shop Street runs through the city centre, and
in the medieval part of the city changes its character from the
street full of moderm fashionable shops to a street where you
can find shops with curiosities, cosy caffees and bars as well
as small restaurants.
Galway offers all conveniences of a modern city, but also
intimate, friendly climate and safety of the small town. It is
called the most European, and in the same time typically Irish
from all Irish cities. Galway revives especially in July and
August because of the famous Arts Festival and Horse Racing Festival.
But there are many music and theatre events all year long. The
city takes pride in some of the best restaurants in Ireland,
traditional pubs and shops. Golf courses, horse riding centres,
swimming pools, amusement centres, cinemas, bowlingtracks and
fishing school are available in the city. Corrib River, famous
for salmon catches, flows in the very centre of Galway.
Galway is like a bridge to Connemar Gate. Not far from Galway
you can admire dramatic seaside views Cliffs of Moher. Three Aran
islands near the coast of Galway are a unique place because of
the heritage of the Irish language, early Christianity and
archeologic treasures - a place, where the time stopped, a
place, where you can experience the past.
And, of course, you cannot forget that the traditional Irish
hospitality concerns also the newcomers. Students experience
it in the school, in the city and in the families they live
with. When they leave, they always want to come back to Galway
some time in the future.
Bus tickets in Galway cost about: week
ticket: 12 Euro; 2-week ticket: 26
Euro, month ticket: 42 Euro.
On the first day the students should
get to the school form the place of their accommodation on their
own. Classes start at.9.00. Students will take written and oral
qualification test, will be shown around in the school and will
receive a student card and welcome packet.
